Salmo outdoor pool tentatively set to open July 6

Nelson, BC: At a meeting on Friday, June 12 the Salmo and District Recreation Commission voted to open the outdoor Salmo pool. The target date to open is July 6, 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the safety of all stakeholders while providing an enjoyable recreation opportunity, a new set of rules and regulations will be established for all users of the swimming facility.

“We are happy to be able to provide this outdoor recreation opportunity for the residents of Salmo and Area G,” said Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Recreation Commission Chair Diana Lockwood. “We know that it will not be the same as in the past, but be assured that it will be done in a manner to ensure the safety of our staff and the public. We are doing our best to maximize the amount of time for our residents use, while being safe.”

Details on the hours of operations and the rules and regulations will be provided soon.
