Resident survey on the renewable energy transition
May 22, 2020
Take the West Kootenay Eco Society’s Resident Survey on the Renewable Energy Transition to share your priorities for the transition to 100% renewable energy!
The 100% Renewable Energy Plan focuses on 4 components:
1. Where we live, work and play: buildings (improving existing buildings, increasing the standards for new buildings and improving the livability of towns and villages)
2. How we move around: transportation (public transit, biking, walking, electric vehicles)
3. How we power our lives: energy (increasing clean energy production, phasing out fossil fuels)
4. How we deal with our waste: waste management (compost/green bins, landfill diversion, landfill methane capture)
The 100% Renewable Energy Plan will help residents, businesses, municipal staff and elected officials understand and support the goals of the commitment to transition to 100% renewable energy. Working together and building on each community’s strengths, we can create a cohesive regional transition plan that gives our community opportunities.
