Second opportunity to respond to survey about Option B enhancements to the Castlegar & District Community Complex
January 2, 2018
Castlegar, BC: Residents from Area I, Area J and Castlegar who didn’t get the opportunity in December to respond to a survey about potential enhancements to the Castlegar & District Community Complex (CDCC) will get a second chance. This week, households that have not yet submitted a response will be mailed a survey invitation along with a new access code.
“We heard that some people didn’t receive their survey invitation, or that their invitation might have been lost in all the holiday mail,” said Lawrence Chernoff, Chair of the Castlegar & District Recreation Commission. “It’s important that everyone has the opportunity to have their say, so we are opening a second survey window. We thank those residents who have already responded to the survey.”
The survey asks residents whether or not they would support the Option B enhancements to the CDCC if asked in a referendum. The Recreation Commission is focusing on Option B because it received stronger support in a resident questionnaire completed in summer 2017. Findings from the current survey—both the December and January windows—will be used by the Recreation Commission to determine its approach to a potential referendum about CDCC enhancements.
Households in the service area that have not yet responded to the survey will receive a second mailed invitation this week. The invitation letter contains instructions for accessing the survey, along with a new unique access code. The access codes from December will no longer be valid. This access code can only be used once, so residents are asked to finish the survey in one session. The survey should take about five minutes to complete. All responses will remain anonymous.
This second survey window will remain open until January 19. The survey is accessible through the CDCC enhancements website, http://myactivityhub.ca. Comprehensive information about the project and Option B is available on the site.
