Update on Deer Park FSR
March 27, 2017
Vehicular access to Deer Park should be restored on Monday, April 3rd, according to contractors and Ministry officials.
Remediation work on the road has proved challenging given the amount of rock at the site. Contractors will begin scaling and blasting material tomorrow to widen the road and to create a rock bench.
Flaggers will be on either side of the worksite to ensure public safety.
Commencing immediately, foot travellers are asked to adhere to the following pre-scheduled times provided by Selkirk Natural Resource District (Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations) to safely pass through the work site:
Daily at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
The RDCK is grateful to the Ministry and Kalesnikoff Lumber for their assistance in remediating the road and transporting residents and provisions during the road closure.
We also thank Deer Park and Renata residents for their cooperation and understanding.
