Rains cause floods in RDCK
February 6, 2015
Flooding is occurring in some areas of the Regional District of Central Kootenay due to recent rainfall.
The following roads have been CLOSED due to flooding:
- Slocan Valley West Road south of 3137 Slocan Valley West Road
- Shoreacres—Goose Creek Road at 2565 Shoreacres—Goose Creek Road
Road crews have been dispatched.
Residents throughout the region are being asked to monitor local streams, creeks and rivers for rising water. People should also be aware of breaking ice dams and blocked culverts. Sandbags are available at local fire halls if needed.
