July 8 Update: Wildfire

BC Wildfire Service crews continue to attack the approximately 380-hectare blaze in the Duhamel and Sitkum creeks area. The Service has 82 firefighters on the ground and three helicopters in the air, as well as other resources to support the firefighting effort. The evacuation alert is still in place.
The public is encouraged to attend an information meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at école des Sentiers-alpins (French language school, formerly A.I. Collinson) located at 2780 Highway 3A. Reps from the Wildfire Service will be on hand to answer questions.
