Creston & Area: FREE yard waste disposal in April

For the month of April residents of the East Subregion will be able to drop off yard and garden waste free of charge at the following RDCK Resource Recovery Facilities:

  • Creston Landfill
  • Crawford Bay Transfer Station
  • Boswell Transfer Station

Due to the success of the pilot program which ran last year, directors of the East Subregion have approved to extend the program for the month of April, 2015. “This program will help improve air quality by increasing the incentive for residents of the East Subregion to responsibly dispose of their yard and garden waste” says Garry Jackman, Chair of the East Subregion.

Yard and garden waste materials that qualify for free tipping fees include  grass, lawn & hedge clippings, flowers, weeds, leaves, shrubs and branches less than 15cm in diameter.   Materials that do not qualify include tree stumps, noxious weeds, soil and fruit & vegetable material.
