Slocan Park Wildfire: Evacuation Alert Rescinded

Nelson—Residents in the vicinity of the wildfire burning east of Slocan Park are no longer on evacuation alert.
"Mother Nature is helping us out with this wet weather and the Southeast Fire Centre has been outstanding in its efforts to fight this fire," said Terry Swan, regional fire chief with the RDCK.
Recreational users of the Slocan River near Slocan Park are asked to be cautious as helicopters continue to extract water from the river for firefighting.
