Candidate Information

The general election is set for Saturday, October 20, 2018 to elect one Director for each electoral area (A - K).

You may run for local government office if you:

  • are a Canadian citizen;
  • are at least 18 years old on election day;
  • have lived in BC for at least the last 6 months; and,
  • have not been disqualified from voting in a BC local election.

You do not have to live in the jurisdiction in which you are running for office.

The official list of candidates will be announced September 24, 2018.

Candidate Nomination Package

Nomination forms are available at the Regional District head office located at 202 Lakeside Drive, Nelson B.C. beginning August 2, 2018 during regular office hours: 8:30 - 4:30, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Call the Chief Election Officer/Deputy Chief Election Officer to have nomination forms sent to you.
