Village of Salmo - Diana Lockwood

Director Diana Lockwood is Mayor of Salmo, where she served as a Councillor for three-and a half years prior to being elected Mayor in 2018.  Born in Trail and raised in Salmo, she is passionate about her community and has always been a very active volunteer with community groups. Her volunteer life started in high school and subsequently carried on to include the Salmo Ski Racers, the Salmo Swimming Pool, Girls Fastball, and the Lions Club and all they do for and around the community.

Under the Chamber of Commerce, she chaired the Playground Committee that brought about the new playground in Salmo’s KP Park. She worked Council and community members to establish Salmo as a designated Age Friendly Community and has been with the West Kootenay Seniors Transportation Working Group for the last four years. A Registered Nurse, Diana has worked in the nursing profession for the past twenty years. Happily married she is also the proud grandmother to four grandchildren.
