City of Nelson - Brittny Anderson

Brittny is grateful her parents, Deb and Terry Anderson, chose to return to Nelson when she was 6 months old so she could grow up and thrive in our precious mountain town.  At 16, she was given the opportunity to expand her wings and live in Ecuador through the Rotary Youth Exchange program. She started her post secondary education at Selkirk College and received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of British Columbia Okanagan and a Masters of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the Central European University. Growing up in Nelson inspired her to learn, live, work and travel before returning home to settle down with her partner and dog.

Brittny’s work experience brought her from the service sector in Nelson and Vancouver to administration in Fort McMurray, an NGO in Whitehorse finally back to Nelson, where she worked at the RDCK as their Environmental Services Coordinator and their Environmental Technologist.  Brittny left the RDCK to pursue an opportunity as an entrepreneur and was elected as a Councillor for the City of Nelson in 2018.
