RDCK Land Use Applications

The following applications fall under the jurisdiction of the Regional District of Central Kootenay and have been made available for Agency and/or Adjacent Property Owner review.  To view the referral package, please click on the associated hyperlink. The letter at the end of the RDCK File Number indicates the applicable Electoral Area associated with the Land Use Application. 

Applications for subdivision falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI). Applications for subdivision, non-farm use, non-adhering residential use, exclusion and inclusion of lands within the Agricultural Land Reserve are similarly considered by the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC). We recommend contacting the appropriate government agency to enquire about the status of these types of applications.

The purpose of this Development Permit application is to authorize the construction of a 184 m2 dwelling within the Development Permit Area.

 

The location of the proposed dwelling is within the SPEA. In the Riparian assessment the QEP
has indicated that complete avoidance of environmental impacts is not possible; therefore, minimization and on-site
restoration are being proposed.

Rumbling Creek Resort

4626 Highway 6, Hall Siding, Electoral Area ‘G’

The purpose of this Development Permit application is to authorize the development of a resort commercial/event space use that will consist of 8 self contained rental cabins and a communal building with a café/restaurant use.

 

The development will be serviced with on-site wastewater (septic) system and a drilled well. Although none of the proposed buildings are within the watercourse development permit area associated with a wetland feature, it is anticipated that there be a small amount of site preparation (e.g. grading and possible operation of machinery) as well as construction of part of a gravel walking path within the 15 metre development permit area.

This application would authorize the new detached garage to be constructed 1.5 metres from the southern lot line and 0.4 metres from the eastern lot line.

In order for this to be allowed, a DVP is required.
